Retaining Walls

Railroad tie, timber and block walls that hold back slopes, stop washouts and level out your yard.

// Retaining Walls in East Texas

East Texas yards slope, and heavy rain moves dirt. A well-built retaining wall holds the hill in place, protects your foundation and walkways, and turns an unusable slope into level ground. B6 Tradesman builds and repairs retaining walls for homeowners across Tyler, Canton, Lindale, Mineola and the surrounding area.

We build with railroad ties, landscape timbers and block, depending on the look you want, the height of the wall and your budget. We set walls on a firm, level base and plan for drainage so they hold up when the ground is saturated.

Smaller projects count too: stepped timber borders for flower beds, raised garden beds and short walls along driveways and walkways.

Retaining Walls Questions

What retaining wall material is best?

Railroad ties and timbers are cost-effective and look natural. Block costs more but lasts longer and suits a cleaner look. We go over the options for your slope and budget during the estimate.

My retaining wall is leaning. Can it be fixed?

Sometimes a section can be rebuilt. If the wall has failed along its length, replacing it is usually the better value. We will look at it and tell you honestly.

Do retaining walls need drainage?

Most do. Water trapped behind a wall pushes on it, so we plan for drainage as part of the build.

Do you build garden beds and borders?

Yes. We build stepped timber borders, raised beds and tiered planting beds as well as full retaining walls.
